Professor Karl Leister - master class for advanced clarinettists. An opportunity to share in the day as observers
Professor Karl Leister, Ben Westlake's teacher, was solo clarinettist of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra for 30 years under Herbert von Karajan, and subsequently Claudio Abbado. This is the first public master class that Karl has given in the UK for many years and is an event not to be missed. Some of the UK's most talented players will be taking part, including Jo Shiner, Woodwind Finalist in BBC Young Musician 2008, Harry Cameron Penny, finalist in BBC 2's Classical Star 2007, and students of top UK clarinettists David Campbell. Top UK pianist Daniel Smith will accompany.
It should be a wonderful day featuring some of the greatest music for clarinet by Mozart, Weber, Brahms, Reger and others.
Tickets £7.50 for half a day: 10am to 12.45 or 1.45 - 4.30, or £10.00 for the whole day (student £5.00)
